What people customarily think, say, and do is cultural and far more powerful than we once supposed. Culture is predictable because it is patterned. Cultural patterns exit everywhere among all groups of people. Four patterns are overarching. The book explains them. They are understandable and useful for success.
Culture – Learned shared patterns of perception and behavior differentiate peoples. Culture makes a difference!
Patterns – Across time, people tend to think, speak, and act in repeatable and foreseeable ways. There are patterns!
Overarching – To be effective across cultures, one does not have to know innumerable languages and cultures, even though there may be thousands of them. Instead, one can easily understand four overarching patterns that exist globally.
